Joining the hearty and nutritious with the lavish and celebratory…
Promoting the integration of the arts and the Christian faith
B & G is both a web and print-published arts journal showcasing a mix of essays, life & cultural reflections, reviews and profiles of local artists and their work. It is designed to provide a minor stage on which an excellent relationship between art, faith, cultural renewal, and local community can be celebrated. We believe that the world – called into existence by God’s Word – is infused with an abundance of meaning. And even though we speak of the world, which is to come, we also affirm that God has already gifted us with it. Therefore, we hope and pray that Bread and Glitter exemplifies love, excellence, and a civil conviction through sincerity, graciousness and a celebratory nature of a world steeped with significance.
B & G is affiliated with the Kansas City Boiler Room community.
Read the Winter 2010 Editorial: A Study in Flour, by J.R.Myszka for more information regarding our vision.
The website is updated regularly with fresh content. Collected submissions culminates in a new print edition each season.

We accept submissions on an on-going basis. Please contact us if you wish to contribute. We are looking for work that encourages, promotes, and celebrates human creativity. B & G seeks to promote individuals who are willing to wrestle and engage deeply with a broken culture by producing good works that enrich life. We generally accept scholarly essays and informal musings and reflections that deal with the interplay between the arts, faith and culture. We also publish poetry, short stories, video art, music videos, and photography. Scan our archives to see if your work would be a good fit.
