Ryan LaFerney—Senior editorRyan LaFerney is the publisher and senior editor for Bread and Glitter. He is a writer and creative catalyst. Interested in the intersection of the arts and the Christian faith, he is responsible for planting the seed that has grown into Bread and Glitter. He graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a degree in art history. LaFerney lives and works in Kansas City, MO. and dreams of one day attending graduate school to study the intersection of theology, arts and culture. Rachel Wegner — Contributing WriterRachel is a journalist, musician and photographer and originally hails from the quiet shores of West Michigan. She is an active member of the Kansas City Boiler Room and part of the KCBR Artists Collective. She oversees journalism and media for 24-7 Prayer USA, which is headquartered at the Boiler Room. She graduated in 2007 from Oral Roberts University with a degree in journalism. Perhaps her most driving passion in life is that of storytelling, which she enjoys expressing through her writing, music and photography. She plans to get her MA in Journalism in the near future. |
Jake Myszka — Contributing WriterJake Myszka is a creative catalyst, musician and writer from Milwaukee, WI who resides in Kansas City. He studied graphic design & visual communications at UW-Whitewater and Milwaukee Area Technical College. In 2004, he took part in the Mad City Training Community, a discipleship based leadership development school in which Jake focused on creative community development and studies of Theology & the Imagination, Communication and Culture. Jake helped launch a 24-7 Prayer community, the Madison Boiler Room, and was a resident mentor for 24-7 Transit 2009-2010. Jake has a passion to nurture artists in a well-lived life of faith, creativity, and cultural stewardship in their creative work and relationships. Christina Carnes — Contributing WriterChristina Carnes received her BS in Worship Ministries and BA in vocal performance from John Brown University, and her undergraduate emphasis on the social implications of musical arts stimulated her interest in integrating art-makers with their communities to form truly symbiotic relationships. Her unique ability to forge meaningful connections between creatives and the historical, philosophical and local contexts in which they work has been made manifest through many venues – including positions in teaching, arts administration, and mentoring. Christina is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in theology and art history at Duke University. |
